보행자 신호등의 경우에는 잔여 시간을 보여주는 곳이 많이 있습니다.

그래서 이동시 보행자에게 많은 도움이 되고 있습니다.

​

하지만 차량 신호등은 잔여 시간을 보여주는 곳이 아직은 없었습니다.

이런 불편 사항에 대해서 아무래도 요청을 많이 한 것 같습니다.

​

4월 한 달 전국 3곳(의정부, 천안, 대구)에서

차량 신호등 잔여표시를 시범운영을 했다고 합니다.

​

그 결과는 어땠을까요?

교통안전에 많은 도움이 되었을까요? ㅎㅎ

결과는 '아니오'입니다. ㅎㅎ

​

1시간동안 신호는 24번이 바뀌었는데

그 동안 급가속을 한 차량의 대수는 29대입니다.

즉, 매회 1대 이상의 차량이 급가속을 한 것이죠.

​

운전자는 신호가 바뀌는 시간을 알 수 있어서

빨간불로 바뀌기 2초전 대부분의 운전자는 가속을 하였습니다.

​

딜레마구간에서 통과 속도는 10% 이상 증가를 하였다고 합니다.

멈춰야 하는데 오히려 과속을 한 것이죠.

이런 경우 횡단보도의 보행자에게는 더 큰 위험이 될 수가 있습니다.

​

4월 한 달 시범운영한 결과를 토대로

도입 여부를 결정한다고 하니까 지켜봐야 할 것 같습니다.

It helps pedestrians cross roads safely.

However, there are no traffic lights displaying remaining time for vehicles.

Many people may request the traffic lights with remaining time displays for vehicles.

​

For the month of April, three locations have implemented the trial operation of traffic lights

with remaining time displays for vehicles.

​

What do you think of the outcome?

Is it safer than before?

​

Unfortunately, the outcome is Nope.

​

Most drivers go faster by 10% after seeing only 2 seconds remaining before the light turns red.

​

They should stop their car after seeing 2 seconds remaining, but they didn't do that.

It could occur serious danger to the pedestrians on the crosswalk

because the pedestrian traffic light is already green.

​

After review, the policy regarding implementation will be determined.
